A while ago, I added my Watts Trilogy to my dA gallery, and I explained that I had originally done them for an annual open exhibition at a gallery in North Vancouver back in 2010. This is part of my three-painting submission to last year's Anonymous Art Show, my second year participating. For this submission, I decided it would benefit me to produce three paintings that could be placed into my portfolio of technology-based work if they didn't sell. I ultimately decided to base them on iterations of my original Blank Planet suite which I produced when I was building my website. The idea of the website design was to have six pages, and to build upon the original orange and green by adding new versions in the four other colours of the six-colour rainbow. So, basically, for each of these, I ended up doing a traditional painting of a digital painting that was based on a traditional painting. This "ver. 2.0" series doesn't quite have the same conceptual origins in neo-Luddism as the original versions; by this point, my technophobia had long subsided, and the originals were now more representative of an aesthetic upon which I could freely extrapolate regardless of the initial concept.
